Is there a provision for a speedometer cable?
There is no provision for a mechanical speedometer. You will need to use a GPS or custom VSS based solution. The Speedhut Speedbox is one and their GPS speedometer is another. Godzilla is a Speedhut dealer and will be able to work with you on that if you want. I just ordered a Speedhut speedometer and tach for my TR6. I have their stuff in my 240Z as well as my Datsun 620 pickup and I couldn’t be happier. Obviously any GPS speedo will work. I just happen to like Speedhut.
Do I need to modify the car?
No. It’s a bolt in arrangement.
Does it use an internal concentric slave cylinder?
No. It uses a traditional fork and bearing. It also uses your stock Triumph hydraulics. I tested with a .70 master and a .75 master. The .70 was very light. I personally like the .75 a little better but both are way better than stock.
Is the shifter in the stock TR6 location?
Yes. Because the TL70 uses an external shift platform I was able to locate it in the stock position. I went to great effort with multiple revisions to get the location just right.
How do I buy?
Although I sell parts direct, Godzilla Race Works in Fort Worth TX handles the conversions and sales. It’s usually cheaper to go through Godzilla if you want anything other than the basic parts. I don’t offer any kind of live support and my email support can be a bit spotty 🙂
